YAMAHA RACKS UP NEW TF MODEL
Yamaha’s TF Series mixers won our hearts pretty quickly at AT. All our favourite features combined with the genius 1-knob control, presented in an intuitive and affordable package and topped off with the trustworthy Yamaha brand — what’s not to like? But it’d seem a family of digital mixers isn’t quite complete until it’s spawned a rack-able, tablet version.
Consequently, Yamaha has boarded the mobile-mixing bandwagon in releasing the TF Rack — a 3U unit that sports the same touch-screen as the TF1, TF3 and TF5 consoles, allowing for TouchFlow operation and 1-knob control over dynamics and EQ, bringing you the TF experience (albeit without faders) in a tiny form factor. QuickPro Presets are included for a variety of musical instruments and mics. A range of I/O options are available, along with 34 x 34 digital record/playback channels accessed via USB. Of course you can control the mixer wirelessly using apps, and there’s a heap of DSP, recallable D-PRE mic preamps, and an expansion slot for the Tio1608-D I/O to add Dante compatibility with low latency. The TF-Rack will start shipping in December.
