Studios 301 has added producer/engineer/mixer Guy Gray to their Sydney roster following his recent return to Australia. It’s more than just as Oz homecoming – Guy started his career at Studios 301 in 1981, before globe-trotting the world. Now, having worked throughout studios in Asia and North America, including the Hit Factory in New York City and Schtung Music in Los Angeles/Singapore, Guy has received multiple ARIA nominations and his film soundtrack work has won Asia’s highly coveted Golden Horse and Golden Melody awards. Guy’s 30 years of experience includes engineering scores, large orchestral recordings, surround mixing as well as music production for successful film projects throughout Australia and Southeast Asia. He can also lay claim to being a senior in-house recording and mix engineer for artists such as The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper and Paul Kelly. His engineering credits can be found on multi-platinum selling records such as Midnight Oil’s ‘Diesel & Dust’ and David Bowie’s ‘Tin Machine II,’ as well as the official Australian Olympic team song ‘You’re Not Alone’ in 1988 (yes, there was a song).
