Crest Audio Tactus Screen

TACTUS DIGITAL MIXING SYSTEM

We were kind of nodding off at the news desk, things have been a bit slow. Reading this made us put the kettle on and sharpen the pencils. A few months ago, we were pondering the implications of Waves’ new SoundGrid system, and now we’re starting to see its application pave the way for new audio solutions. Crest Audio has partnered with Waves to create the Tactus Digital Mixing System, a new live mixing system designed to work with the new touch-screen operated Waves eMotion Mixer for SoundGrid. The eMotion Mixer provides a simple, customisable touch-screen (that’s touch-screen only) operating interface that puts all of the audio routing, processing and mixing tools within easy and immediate reach, and allows the use of Waves audio processing plug-ins for live events. The Tactus hardware is made up of the Tactus.FOH, which is the audio processing core for the system, a 32-in/16-out remote stage box called the Tactus.Stage and the eMotion mixer. Everything interconnects via standard Gigabit Ethernet cabling and an internal Gigabit switch. Without Tactus Stage, the Tactus FOH has eight local microphone/line inputs and eight line outputs, or by combining Tactus Stage I/O interfaces you’ll get a total of 64 stereo inputs by 32 stereo outputs. It’s safe to say — modular, Ethernet connected and a full touch-screen mixer… Tactus is going to attract a lot of attention.
