SSL SIGMA UPDATE & L200 LIVE CONSOLE
SSL launched the new L200 live console at Prolight + Sound 2017. The mid-scale desk has a unique inverted T chassis design driven by ergonomic considerations. The sprung arm-mounted external screen is kept closer to the centre of the console and all essential controls are a short reach away. Arms can be mounted on either side of the console and can be specified as screen mounts or laptop/utility trays.
38 faders sit across the surface as three sets of 12-channel fader tiles, with a pair of master faders. A central multi-touch 17-inch screen lets you access all of the console’s functions and combines quick control in the central fader tile for immediate hands-on hardware control. Onboard effects is the same you’ll find on SSL’s L300 and L500 consoles. The L200 lets you use up to 48 instances of effects processors at any one time.
SSL also announced a significant V2.1 update to its Sigma remote-controlled analogue summing mixer. The update introduces Eucon control and three new AAX, AU, and VST3/VST plug-ins, a new 16-channel plug-in for Logic compatibility for the first time, and new Mix Bus and Monitoring plug-ins for streamlined session control and recall.
