SSL SIGMA LAUNCH IN OZ
We first told you about the SSL Sigma back in April, but it’s worth revisiting with the impending release in Australia including two presentations in Sydney and Brisbane (details below). Designed for the DAW user that seeks the sound of an SSL console while retaining the convenience of working in the box, Sigma is an analogue mix engine in a 2U rack unit, that is remote controlled with MIDI via Ethernet using a DAW or an iDevice compatible software interface. Using proprietary MDAC control technology first featured in the Duality and AWS studio consoles, Sigma’s 100% analogue summing engine can be driven by automation data created within your DAW. Sigma features 16 flexible input channels which can be individually switched between being mono or stereo for up to 32 channels at mixdown. Rather than go further into details here you can put your very own sticky fingers on a Sigma in Sydney on the 2nd September (info and RSVP here) and Brisbane on the 4th September (info and RSVP here). Product specialist Adam Wilkinson (of Solid State Logic) will be coming to Australia to take attendees through the features of the Sigma. The presentation will focus mainly on the features and benefits of the Sigma and how it fits into your studio workflow, however Adam will also be showcasing several other products from the SSL range. You can do some homework at www.solid-state-logic.com and if you take a cheque book you’ll need RRP $5599 in the kitty.
