With the recent sale of the premises at 643 Chapel Street, the current custodians are now seeking expressions of interest for the purchase of Sing Sing Recording Studios. This includes business name, phone number, email, website, all equipment, instruments, furniture, goods, chattels, and memorabilia. With equipment alone worth around $1.3 million, this collection reflects over 45 years of recording history, awash with items utilised by the who’s who of Australian music, as well as dozens of notable International clients.
The new owner of 643 Chapel St intends to develop the premises and as such any prospective buyers for Sing Sing must be prepared to relocate the studio. The settlement date for the building purchase is early May 2023 so it is anticipated that the premises will be vacated by April 2023 at the latest. Earlier acquisition and removal of assets would however be possible. In the meantime the studio continues to take bookings.
