SENNHEISER & NEUMANN AT NAMM 2017
Sennheiser and Neumann will be expanding their live performance and monitoring portfolios with the introduction of several new products at NAMM 2017.
The new XS Wireless 1 from Sennheiser is a series of six wireless microphone sets aimed at the budget-conscious user looking for quick setup and ease of use. The XS Wireless 2 will appear later in 2017 and will sport a more sophisticated feature set over XSW 1. Sennheiser’s also got a new pair of monitoring headphones to show us, the HD 200 Pro.
Neumann will launch the brand new, tech-heavy KH 80 DSP monitor loudspeaker which uses DSP to present “a new level of sound neutrality independent of the surrounding.” The upcoming Neumann.Control app will automatically calibrate the speaker system.
In keeping with the fast-moving 3D audio world, Sennheiser’s Ambeo platform will get its fair share or airtime (groundtime?) at NAMM too. The Ambeo VR Microphone will be demonstrated so users can explore possibilities of its Ambeo technologies with a focus on its Ambeo Blueprints website.
There will be daily Blueprint demos at the booth, taking people through the workflow recommended to create 3D music for headphones, VR content, and for 9.1 loudspeakers. The Ambeo area will showcase the Ambeo Music Blueprint microphones (Neumann KU 100 dummy head), the Ambeo VR mic, and the Sennheiser MKH 800 Twin.
