Bitwig Studio 2.3
The latest version of Bitwig Studio delivers a plethora of new user requested features. The biggest would be the new Phase-4 phase manipulation synthesizer with four oscillators and phase distortion. Drawing inspiration from synths like the Yamaha DX-7 and Casio CZ series, Phase-4 is designed to recreate vintage sounds with characterful phase twisting thrown in.
The device view has been expanded for seven Bitwig devices including EQ-5, FM-4, Phase-4, Polysynth and more. The expanded view can also be opened as a detached floating window so you can have greater detail and explore waveforms with access to multiple parameters at the same time.
Time signature changes is another significant addition to Bitwig Studio 2.3 You can now add time signature markers in your arranger timeline, and the timeline grid will be updated accordingly. Time signature changes will be included when exporting or importing MIDI files.
Improvements have been made in the time-stretching department with the introduction of the Zplane Elastique algorithms with full formant control.
Other new features include voice stacking, and instrument and effect selector for layering devices, a new modulator, a sound content update, and more. The release of Bitwig Studio 2.3 is planned for the end of February.
