JZ Microphones will unveil its first guitar amp microphone, the GTR1, next week at NAMM 2015.

Not to be confused with Tascam’s GT-R1 guitar/bass recorder (now discontinued), this dynamic mic is the first by JZ specifically designed for guitar amps, cabinets, or combos and is suitable for capturing any kind of guitar sound.

The mic features an extended frequency range of 50Hz – 18kHz, a neodymium magnet equipped cardioid capsule, and is housed in an all metal body.

Those of you lucky enough to be attending NAMM 2015, when it begins next Thursday, in Anaheim, California, can check out the new mic at the JZ Booth.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

There’s still no word on how much the GTR1 will set you back, but JZ will have the mic available for pre-sales via its web store (link) from the 21st January, 2015. A pouch and microphone clamp is included in the package.
