NEW BITS IN NIMBIT

Way back in July 2012 PreSonus saw the increasing trend towards musicians taking on the whole business of recording, promoting and distributing their music without any evil, world-dominating record label or agent getting the lion’s share of the royalties. So PreSonus bought Nimbit and began integrating it into its Studio One DAW. However, you don’t need to be an S1 user. Anyone can use Nimbit and with  “increasing trend” being the operative words here, PreSonus is keeping on pace with musicians’ e-commerce by revamping the Nimbit website and its services to reflect the latest tricks and treats. A new Artist Profile page makes it much easier to upload video clips, mp3 files and do other tasks that can be a real headache in normal website design. Also, a FanCheck.in feature is an interesting way for alerting your fans to upcoming gigs and events (such as song releases) and, in the process, creating a database of email addresses for that all-important email list. Sneaky, but effective. If this is all a bit mumbo-jumbo you can try a free Nimbit account and get a taste of what it offers. Studio One users will find a tab lurking in their DAW. A range of subscriptions are available at www.nimbit.com
