NEW AUDIO INTERFACE FROM ARTURIA
Arturia has announced its next-generation audio interface, to be released sometime in 2015.
Arturia President Frédéric Brun announced the new AI during his keynote speech at the Museum of Grenoble, as part of the French company’s 15th anniversary celebrations.
Discussing the already overpopulated AI market, Brun admitted that a distributor had warned him against creating yet another interface. His only response was: “At Arturia we are stubborn, and we think we can do something different. We think we can bring something new to market.” The company may be stubborn, but that doesn’t mean this a smart move. There is a mind boggling amount of audio interfaces on the market, it reached saturation point years ago.
Arturia believe they’ve found a gap. Hinting at the differences, the company’s press release said that microphone, line, phono, and instrument inputs, will each have different levels requiring different impedance. Along with multiple platform compatibility (Apple, PC, iOS and Android), digital formats, MIDI, USB and a world clock. Stylistically, the company are obviously appealing to Mac users, with the casing looking like an Apple Mini.
