One of Presonus’s selling points for its Studiolive consoles are that every channel is one-for-one. No nested input fader banks; got an input, it’s got a channel. In order to expand its range to bigger input scales, rather than compromise on what it sees as a key feature, Presonus has figured out a way to tether together two Studiolive mixers as a single unit. Need 48 or 64 channels? You can now buy two 24 or 32-input consoles and string them together. This isn’t just a post-purchase addition either, you can buy StudioLive AI Mix systems in exactly these configurations, including a joining bracket to lock the two consoles together, a PRM1 measurement microphone, a custom dust cover, and the Presonus StudioLive software library, which includes Capture live recording software, Studio One Artist, VSL-AI with Smaart measurement tech, plus a gaggle of iOS software. The StudioLive 64 AI Mix System has an expected street price of under $7000, and the 48 AI Mix System will slide under $5500.
