NAMM: JBL SRX800 POWER SHAKE UP

JBL continues to shake up the portable PA market. The SRX800 Series incorporates primo JBL transducers and built-in Crown DriveCore amps to deliver “exceptional” sound quality with user-configurable DSP speaker-tuning capability. There are 12s, 15s, two- and three-ways and “the world’s only dual 18-inch powered subwoofer at this price point”. SRX800 loudspeakers and subwoofers are rated at between 135dB and 141dB depending on the model, in no small part thanks to the Crown DriveCore amps with 2000 Watts power output for clean power and headroom. The amplifiers’ onboard DSP includes 20 parametric equalisers, 96k FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters for improved crossover tuning, speaker-delay adjustment and even a signal generator to aid in system calibration.
