JBL EON615 for web

JBL’s EON series of portable PA cabinets has been a winner for JBL over a long period of time and you wouldn’t think EON was a formula that wanted – or needed – much tinkering with. Still, JBL has announced that the new 600 series is a “complete departure from traditional approaches to self-contained and portable PA systems” and has gone back to the drawing board, particularly with regard to transducer and waveguide design. The end result promises studio monitor sound quality in a flexible, easy-to-use PA system. The first model available is the EON615 and that “easy to use” bit comes courtesy of an iOS and Android supported interface paired with Bluetooth Smart Ready 4.0 for controlling the EON615’s master volume, adjusting the 5-way, user-definable parametric EQ, and saving and recalling user presets. It’ll come in handy. The EON615 is a 15-inch 2-way loudspeaker with a built-in 1000-watt power amplifier and with that much grunt it will need the odd tweak in certain situations. Special fluting guides the frequencies through the full range of the system, resulting in consistent response throughout its 90-degree coverage pattern – characteristics JBL says are the foundation of high-end studio monitors. JBL makes some very sweet monitors indeed, so no one’s arguing. Make sure you look at JBL’s pro audio site at www.jblpro.com for more info.
