MACKIE APP GETS A FACELIFT

Mackie was the first to release a live sound mixer controlled solely via a docked iPad and since then we’ve seen more than a few manufacturers following the trend. The newest release of its app Master Fader 3 (which gives users complete control of Mackie DL Series Digital Live Sound Mixers), has found the company bringing less of an update and more of a completely new mixer.

The update includes a redesign of the UI and a heap of new features for the DL806 and DL1608 mixers, as well as support for the company’s new DL32R (link to our article). There’s now also complete offline operation of the DL32R, which allows users to virtually test drive it for free.

However, it should be noted that the sister My Fader app (for on-stage performers or FOH remote-control) has yet to be updated and won’t work with Master Fader 3. So if you or your band/venue rely on that app, you’d do well to wait until it’s release.
