Native Instruments has released an update to its sample-scanning synthesizer Form which adds some new performance and editing features and expands the content library significantly — you even get 200 new presets, taking the list over the 400 mark.

Form 1.1 build on the original by giving “even easier control of sample playback and more consistent results” — in other words, putting some parameters on how random the randomiser gets. New controls include Centre and Width to modulate scan range, so you can add a little sanity to the chaos. A new page of motion curve presets helps create choppy-style sample edits. Manual scan control allows complete hands-on control of sample playback. Volume faders for sound variations in Perform section avoid abrupt volume jumps when swapping Performance snapshots. All parameters can now be automated and there are new controller pages for Komplete Kontrol S-Series keyboards and all versions of Maschine for even deeper integration with Native Instruments hardware.
