d&b ACQUIRED BY INVESTMENT COMPANY ARDIAN
Respected live sound systems manufacturer d&b audiotechnik has been acquired by the independent private investment company Ardian. Ardian has assets of $55 billion managed or advised in Europe, North America and Asia. The purchase was made from Odewald & Compagnie and COBEPA, which acquired d&b in 2011, and under which d&b’s sales more than doubled.
The existing management team led by CEO Amnon Harman, MarksurohMD, Technlogy and Operations), Frank Bothe (Director, R&D), Kay Lange (Director, Finance), Hans-Peter Nüdling (Director, Sales & Services) and Sabina Berloffa (Director, Marketing) will also take a stake in the company.
d&b audiotechnik currently employs around 350 staff and operates in more than 70 countries. The company’s sales for the 2015 financial year was $94 million. Harman, d&b CEO, stated the company would be looking to further develop its presence in the Asia-Pacific, South American and North American markets, and aimed to expand the business with permanently installed systems and further audio sound development.
