Audio-Technica AT2040 Podcasting Mic

Like the pro version, the AT-BP40, the dynamic hypercardioid AT2040 brings professional-grade sound quality at an affordable price.

The AT2040 comes in a rugged and stylish all-metal construction. It excels at isolated/up-close vocal reproduction and rejects unwanted ambient sound due to its tight hypercardioid polar pattern, producing a “smooth, warm, natural” sound. The mic’s multistage windscreen combines a nonwoven filter with foam mesh to provide an internal pop filter. In addition, its specially-designed integrated shock mount prevents unwanted noise by dampening vibration coming from a boom arm or mic stand.

The AT2040 can be used with all conventional audio interfaces and mixing consoles that feature microphone XLR inputs. The mic comes with a pivoting stand mount, 5/8-27 to 3/8-16 threaded adapter that fits most standard boom arms and mic stands, as well as a soft protective pouch.

Wesley von Grabill, Brand Manager Audio-Technica Australia “We’ve worked with many content creators over the years and saw the need for a high-performing broadcasting mic for home studios. The AT2040 was developed with podcasters and streamers in mind. We are excited to be able to offer a microphone that will help take your podcast to the next level.”

The AT2040 Hypercardioid Dynamic Podcast Microphone will be available in September 2021 and retails for $199.
