AES 2015: ARTURIA AUDIOFUSE PORTABLE USB AUDIO INTERFACE
Arturia has announced its new portable audio interface at AES 2015 — the AudioFuse. Housed in a compact, all-metal chassis, the sci-fi looking AudioFuse is “made to go anywhere and work with anything.” It’s a USB interface, with combo XLR/1/4” inputs and DiscretePRO custom mic preamps. Two sets of stereo 1/4” speaker outputs can be found on the rear. Digital connections of S/PDIF and ADAT allow for expandability of I/O and these, along with MIDI connectivity, can be added over breakout adapter cables.
A welcome addition to AudioFuse that’s sure to please is the three-port USB hub, not to mention the inclusion of both 3.5mm and 6.5mm sockets for both headphone outputs. Arturia has designed AudioFuse to be easy to use, with minimal obstruction to creative workflow. The top panel controls each have their own functions to do away with unwanted menu-scrolling. You can monitor inputs with zero-latency, and A/B switch between two speaker outputs. There’s even a built-in talkback mic.
