Apollo Twin’s MKII Twin

By

19 January 2017

Universal Audio has redesigned the Apollo Twin interface from the ground up and suffixed it with a MkII. What’s changed?

Apollo Twin MkII now features real-time UAD-2 Solo, Duo, or the all-new Quad processing. The 2×6 Thunderbolt audio interface is lightweight and portable like its predecessor yet improves upon the original Apollo Twin’s audio quality. Overhauled A/D and D/A conversion brings increased dynamic range and ultra low THD. MkII also features Unison technology which allows the dual mic pres and front-panel DI to sound and behave like actual tube and solid-state preamps, guitar amps and stompboxes.

Based on integration between Apollo’s digitally controlled analogue inputs and its onboard UAD processing, Unison lets you track through a range of colourful preamp emulations from Neve, API, Fender and more.

Other changes include better monitor functionality over the original Apollo Twin, with Mute, Dim, Mono and Alt speaker switching. It also includes monitor remote controls and a built-in talkback mic.

Apollo Twin MkII comes with UAD’s ‘Realtime Analog Classics’ plug-in bundle. Now available in stores worldwide.
