Roland AIRA TR8
THE TR-8 RHYTHM PERFORMER

For once a product that we were only teased about at NAMM has become a reality within a matter of weeks. When Roland dropped heavy hints and released tricky videos about a new generation TR-808 called Aira everyone got so excited no one really twigged that Aira is, in fact, a new range of products and the TR-808 reborn is called a TR-8 Rhythm Performer. There’s also the TB-3 Touch Bassline, VT-3 Voice Transformer and a System-1 Plug-Out synthesizer all released under the Aira banner. For those who were eagerly awaiting another analogue classic in the TR-8 you may be disappointed to know it’s digital. However, Roland assures us the new Analogue Circuit Behaviour (ACB) technology faithfully emulates the TR-808 and TR-909 sounds to perfection and provides all the advantages of digital design as well. We’ve got it straight from the horse’s mouth that all the Aira line will be officially launched in Australia next week and stocks aren’t too far away. You can find out full details with videos and technical specs, including Oz pricing at www.rolandcorp.com.au
