Two Eventide products are finalists for NAMM 2025 TEC Awards.
Eventide Audio has been named as finalist in two categories in the 40th annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. Eventide’s Omnipressor 2830AU Reissue has been selected as finalist in the category Signal Processing Hardware, and its Blackhole Immersive is a finalist in the category Signal Processing Software (Effects). These awards will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.
“We are thrilled to be named as finalist in two categories for the upcoming 40th TEC Awards,” stated Eventide General Manager Tony Agnello. “To be recognized by peers in the industry is the ultimate honor in so many ways, and we appreciate the way these products have been able to find a home among the go-to tools of the most talented and creative audio professionals in our industry.”
Presented annually by NAMM during The NAMM Show, The NAMM TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies, and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games, and other media in Technical and Creative Achievement Categories. Through its Hall of Fame, The TEC Awards also honors the pioneers of audio technology and the music industry’s most accomplished producers and audio technicians. About Eventide Omnipressor 2830AU Reissue:
In 1973, Eventide Clockworks introduced the Omnipressor, the first studio product to encourage the use of dynamics for special effects. It joined the Instant Phaser in studios worldwide, with the Instant Flanger following shortly after. All were used on countless recordings and are now considered truly classic products. The golden-anniversary Omnipressor Model 2830AU, lovingly recreated from the original hand-drawn schematics from the Eventide archives, is a faithful replica designed with the same circuitry and the same sound as the original 2830. It features the ability to link multiple units and is fitted with input and output audio transformers, which were a costly option in the original. Other improvements include a universal power supply and a back-lit meter. More convenient TRS/XLR connectors replace the original terminal strip.
About Eventide Blackhole Immersive:
Eventide’s Blackhole algorithm is a longtime favorite of discerning engineers, yielding everything from subtle ambience to supernatural decays and drones. The Blackhole Immersive reverb plug-in transports this oft-used effect into the realm of immersive audio with support for multichannel, surround and Dolby Atmos workflows. Blackhole Immersive was explicitly developed for immersive audio; it sounds identical across immersive formats and its easy-to-use, resizable UI is optimized for immersive workflows. Users will appreciate how easy it is to set individual speaker levels, and they’ll find the Kill Dry, Kill Wet, and Freeze controls fantastic for creating drastic effects. Moreover, Blackhole Immersive’s Mix Lock enables users to scroll through presets or settings while maintaining a constant wet/dry mix. Complete with over 150 pro-crafted presets, Eventide’s Blackhole Immersive is a must-have for engineers working in Dolby Atmos, Apple Spatial Audio, and every other immersive format.
