Sound Magic: Piano One

A free hybrid-modelling VSTi of a Yamaha concert grand.

6 November 2023

Founded in 2007, Sound Magic has transformed into a pioneer of virtual instruments and DSP software. Starting from humble beginnings in Beijing, the company now has over 20 employees, and regional offices spread out across the world. With one office in Anaheim, California and one in London, Sound Magic Co., Ltd. has the privilege of working with talented engineers, developers, musicians, and creatives from across the world to create products from a culture born from diversity and dedication. The company’s philosophy is that digital instruments are meant to not only replicate a traditional instrument, but also open new doors and make new experiences and music possible.

Piano One comes from the Yamaha C7 concert grand — a true workhorse in the professional piano world — and appears on famous concert stages, in international competitions, and at prestigious music events throughout the world. By utilising the Sound Magic Hybrid Modelling Engine, Piano One offers both the realistic sound of sampling and the playability of modelling. Hybrid Modelling provides an instantaneous feeling, with no delay and a truer, richer sound than can be created with either sampling or modelling alone.

Features:
  • Neo Piano Hybrid Modelling Engine (Limited Features)
  • Yamaha C7 sound
  • Note duration is limited within 18 seconds
  • Some features (such as resonance) are missing
