NAMM: FOUR NEW REDNET INTERFACES

Focusrite has unveiled four new units to its RedNet line of Dante-based interfaces, the D64R, HD32R, D16R & MP8R.
All of the units feature dual Ethernet ports with locking Ethercon connectors, front panel indicators to show operation modes (such as daisy-chaining and redundancy); two separate power supplies with fault-detection capability and separate inputs on the rear, along with a 1U form factor.
As yet there’s no word on how much you can expect to pay for the units in Australia, but we’ve listed the announced EU prices to give you an idea of costs. All units are expected to become available for purchase sometime in the Q2 of 2015.
MP8R: 8-channel remote-controlled mic pre– Based on RedNet 4
- Redundant Ethernet networking and power supply redundancy
- Ethercon connectors
- Dual input impedance
- Local or remote control of mic pre parameters via RedNet Control, Pro Tools and MIDI
- Best-in-class Focusrite A/D conversion up to 192kHz
- Comprehensive indicators including OLED gain and system info display
- Dual outputs for each preamp; direct and automatic level-compensated
- OCA control (available later in 2015)
The EU street price announced is €3025.
D16R: 16 channel AES/EBU interface
- Redundant Ethernet networking and power supply redundancy
- Ethercon connectors
- Sample Rate Conversion on all channels
- Input and Output on XLR as well as DB25
- XLR Input for DARS or Digital Audio
- S/PDIF 2-channel I/O
- Word Clock I/O
- Remote routing and control

HD32: 32 channel bridge for Pro Tools HD – Based on RedNet 5
- Redundant Ethernet networking and power supply redundancy
- Ethercon connectors
- Mini Digilink connectors
- Compatible with Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools HD Native and Pro Tools|HDX
- Add Dante to Pro Tools|HD, or Pro Tools HD to Dante
The EU retail price announced is €1512.
D64R: 64 channel MADI-Dante bridge – Based on RedNet 6
- Redundant Ethernet networking and power supply redundancy
- Ethercon connectors
- Sample Rate Conversion on input and output
- Optical and Coax MADI
- Word Clock I/O for Dante or MADI streams
- Support for 56 or 64 channel MADI streams
- Operates at standard sample rates between 44.1kHz and 192kHz
The EU retail price announced is €2520.
