We first spotted these in some info coming out of Summer NAMM, but discovered that literally the paint hadn’t yet dried on these five new microphone models from ADK, called the Custom Shop Tri-Polar F.E.T. Mics (or the “T-FET” as the ADK lads like to say). Offering the responses of five classic condenser microphone – you should be able to guess which – the models are the Vienna 12-T, Hamburg 67-T, Berlin 47-T, Cremona 251-T and Frankfurt 49-T each presented in its own striking colour. The whole range is based on a unique FET circuit that saturates gradually. These Class A (discrete) 3 polar-pattern condenser microphones are built using a custom Belgium-designed PC board and Zigma Australian-designed GK-D dual-diaphragm capsules. Those three selectable polar patterns are cardioid, omni, figure of 8, and with each microphone you get a full accessory kit with two mounting systems, two windscreens, Accu-Sound XLR cable and a HD flight case. All ADK microphones have a five year, no-fault warranty. Pricing in Australia isn’t quite locked in, but we’re expecting around the $1599.00 mark.
